Solar One’s mission is to empower learning and innovation that result in more sustainable and resilient urban environments. We change the way people think about energy, sustainability, and resilience by engaging and educating a diverse set of stakeholders and beneficiaries. Our programs help individuals and communities explore new ways of living and working that are more adaptive to a changing world.
About This Cause
Solar One was first established in 2004 to be New York City’s Green Energy Education Center. Over the past several years, we have become a well-known environmental organization and leader on the cutting-edge of sustainability programming, and our programs are transforming New York City’s sustainability education and outreach landscape. Since our founding, Solar One has grown tremendously into an award-winning organization with a thriving array of programs that cut across all spectrums serving New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds from all five boroughs of New York City, including K-12 Education, Outreach and Advocacy, Community Solar, Clean Energy Connections, Green Workforce Training, and Arts and Events.
