Mission Statement
The Kingsbury Center provides transformative educational and social experiences for children and adults with a wide range of learning differences (LD) and ADHD at our Day School (PreK-12) and through tutoring, diagnostic assessments, psychological counseling, occupational/physical therapy and speech and language services that we provide to students, as well as families in the general DC community.
About This Cause
The Kingsbury Center includes a day school for students with learning differences and ADHD; and tutoring, diagnostic and psychological services, occupational/physical therapy and speech and language therapy departments, which support the Center and the general community. We serve a diverse population of students from the inner city, as well as the suburbs. The Kingsbury Day School educates students with a range of learning differences and ADHD in a comprehensive, supportive and differentiated PreK-12 program. We strive to create an enriching educational experience for our students to equip them to lead productive and fulfilling lives beyond Kingsbury. To accomplish this mission, Kingsbury’s program: • Provides differentiated instruction and individualized, related services to meet the needs of a diverse population. • Ensures parents and families are partners in the students’ educational experience. • Offers an extended-year option for high school students. There are too many children with learning differences who could unlock their potential through the innovative programs at Kingsbury if not for financial challenges. Some families cannot afford the cost of tuition; some decline enrollment due to insufficient financial assistance and others cannot afford the full range of therapeutic services their children need to be successful learners and they too must decline enrollment. A Kingsbury education is life-changing and transformative. Our compassionate teachers and therapists are experts in serving students with special needs. Donating to The Kingsbury Center will permit us to serve more deserving students and place them on the path to a productive and fulfilling life.
