About This Cause

Defenders of Wildlife, named America's "Best Wildlife Charity" by Reader's Digest, is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of our nation's biological diversity. Since 1947, Defenders' staff has pursued this mission through public education, litigation, research, advocacy, and the development and implementation of creative conservation approaches. With its over 1.8 million supporters, Defenders has played a key role in numerous wildlife restoration programs. We work to protect many species facing extinction and the habitats they need to survive.
