Mission Statement
Our Mission DePaul Cristo Rey High School, sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, transforms students into high school and college graduates by helping them realize their full potential. Our Catholic, college prep curriculum and innovative work study program combine to form young women and men of integrity, faith, tenacity and purpose. Our Beliefs 1. We believe in the promise of hope – every student can succeed personally, academically and professionally. 2. We believe that an excellent, uniquely affordable Catholic education is more than academic; it requires persistence and nourishes values. We believe that educated individuals transform a community. 3. We believe that faith is integral to each person’s life. 4. We believe that on-going exposure to positive role models and experiences can transform a person’s life and goals. 5. We “dare to risk a caring response” as modeled by St. Vincent de Paul, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati.
About This Cause
DePaul Cristo Rey opened in 2011 to serve low-income families who want a private, college-preparatory education for their children, but who cannot afford it without significant financial assistance. All students at DePaul Cristo Rey participate in a Corporate Work Study Program, providing a work and social experience outside of their low-income and often troubled neighborhoods. The Work Study Program builds job readiness and self-confidence, introduces role-models and mentors, helps students build a professional network – and allows students through their own initiative and hard work to pay a portion of their tuition.
