Mission Statement
AFPE achieves its mission by funding first year graduate school fellowships in the pharmaceutical sciences, pre-doctoral fellowships in the pharmaceutical sciences, pre-doctoral fellowships in the clinical pharmaceutical sciences, and underrepresented minorities, and pharmD research scholarships for research.
About This Cause
The American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (AFPE) is a nonprofit organization (501 (c) 3) that has been supporting the research and education of pharmaceutical scientists and pharmacy students for more than 77 years. AFPE is incorporated in the state of New York. The office is located at 6076 Franconia Road, Suite C, Alexandria, VA 22310. AFPE uniquely identifies and invests in the most outstanding graduate students pursuing a pharmaceutical science Ph.D. degree. AFPE provides a variety of awards in collaboration with other organizations who utilize AFPE’s intensive review process. The scientific review committee comprised of 52 experts, reviews more than 300 applicants each year for these prestigious fellowships and scholarships. The reviewers are highly accomplished scientists with specific expertise in the areas they are assigned to review. AFPE has a 20-member Board of Directors consisting of dedicated professionals from industry, academia and associations that represent diverse areas in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice.
