Mission Statement
Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond's mission is to empower young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to succeed in life.
About This Cause
During regular operations, BGCMR offers programming at four Clubs, a teen space, and a Teen & Community Center strategically located in four different under-resourced neighborhoods: in Richmond's Northside, Southside, East End, and Petersburg. Each Club is deeply connected to its surrounding community, honing the specific skills, interests, and supports that best suit members' life readiness needs. Club members have access to snacks and meals, receive tutoring and homework help, engage in recreation, physical activity, and community service, and select from a wide range of Interest Clubs that focus on specific hobbies and skills-facilitated by our talented staff and community partners. While we have always served youth ages 6 through 18, our strategic plan and capital campaign increasingly place teens and young adults at the core of our programming. We now serve youth ages 6 to 23, with an emphasis on youth ages 10 to 23.
