About This Cause
Junior Achievement of Central Virginia empowers young people to be financially capable and tenacious and to take control of their future economic success. JACV efforts focus on 3 pressing issues in our society today - improving student engagement, delivering practical economic education and developing 21st Century Skills, with the following, overarching goals: To motivate and inspire students regarding the relevance and importance of school; To enhance students' knowledge around business, economics and personal finance; To improve work-readiness skills such as collaboration, communication and problem-solving; To invigorate innovation, creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit among our youth. JACV's vision is for all of our students to be prepared leaders, providing higher standards of living in their own communities, effectively competing in the global economy, driving their personal economic success and ultimately that of Virginia and our nation. Utilizing 2,389 business volunteers, JACV empowered 24,1904 students within 24 school districts and 145 schools with a financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship education during the 2018-2019 school year. This equates to 3281,944 student contact hours.
