Mission Statement
Feed the Hungry, Inc. (FtH) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit charitable organization registered in Virginia, USA. Organized in 1993, FtH is wholly volunteer-driven and started as a gift-giving and feeding project for indigent children. Today, FtH has evolved into a vibrant, credible, and trusted multi-program organization with increasing number of volunteers from the Washington, D.C. Metro area, Hawaii, Nevada, and other parts of the United States. Volunteers and donors have been implementing FtH’s numerous projects from feeding and nutrition, educational projects (scholarships and books), infrastructure (classroom building and water systems), gift-giving (orphanages, homes for the aged), livelihood, and calamity relief and rehabilitation endeavors, mainly directed to help alleviate poverty and improve the economic conditions of the poorest of the poor.
About This Cause
Programs include: Gift-giving • Distribution of gift packs consisting of food items, toys, toiletries, medicines and school supplies to the disadvantaged. • indigent, orphans, elderly, street children, sick and handicapped Feeding • Supplemental feeding for malnourished children under 6 years old to improve their health • Training for mothers on proper nutrition and cooking nutritious food Education • Scholarships and Books for Schools. Tuition assistance to deserving high school and college students based on financial need, academic achievement, and leadership potential. Provide additional supplement to schools with government mandated textbooks. Infrastructure • Construction of furnished classrooms where most needed • Erection of water systems to provide potable water Livelihood • Grants to provide funds for livelihood projects to stimulate community and economic development • Partnership with local government, NGOs and cooperatives to provide training for grant recipients Calamity Assistance and Rehabilitation Endeavors • Immediate assistance to calamity victims, and rehabilitation assistance to families experiencing devastation and dislocation from natural disasters, to enable them to recoup and return to their normal daily life.
