Mission Statement
Full Basket Belize is a volunteer-run organization providing scholarships and community project grants to deserving Belizeans. Every cent donated goes directly to those who need it most as all labor is performed and all overhead costs are borne by the Board of Directors.
About This Cause
Full Basket Belize (FBB) is a completely volunteer-run organization founded by a handful of former Peace Corps Volunteers and others who care about Belize. Since 2005, we have worked hard to improve the education, health, and environment of Belizean communities. We do this primarily through FBB’s Scholars Program and Community Grants Program, both of which rely entirely on the generosity of donors for support. While the amount of money we raise is modest, it has gradually grown each year. This has enabled our impact to increase from one scholarship provided in 2005 to the 46 supported in this year. In addition, we are providing Belizean community groups with eleven grants in 2024 . Our goals for the future include gradually expanding the number of scholarships and community project grants that we are able to fund. Most importantly, since all labor and overhead costs are borne by our volunteer Board of Directors, nearly 100 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to those who need it most — the students and communities in Belize. The mission of Full Basket Belize is to improve the education, health, and environment (including climate change) of Belizean communities and support youth and community economic development through scholarships and community grants.
