About This Cause
The Foundation provides a series of real services, benefits, assistance and program activities serving the State of Georgia, the Washington metropolitan area, and all local related areas where supporters reside throughout the U. S.; also providing scholarships and financial assistance to students in these areas, through their local High Schools and School Districts; and sponsoring Study-Abroad Programs, mentoring, tutoring, entrepreneurialship programs, and cultural, civic and performance tours for numerous students. GYF has as its mission to provide spiritual and financial support to the communities of Gainesville/Hall County, and other related communities by enhancing those communities through scholarships, job training and development, community service and political empowerment, in an effort to contribute to the advancement of society. The Grady Young Foundation is on the move with services to our community, county, and country. The Foundation funds eight (8) Book scholarships, representing each of the High Schools in the Gainesville-Hall County, Georgia area, six (6) memorial scholarships available to anyone throughout the United States, and two (2) incentive scholarships annually. The GYF has awarded more than 150 scholarships over the past 13 years, recognized more than 250 individuals for their contributions and achievements, and serviced more than 100 individuals, families, service groups and organizations to help build their communities. Annual events that provide services and benefits to the communities include: The Annual GYF Memorial Weekend, Annual Scholarship Gala and Recognition Banquet, Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament, Annual Gospel Extravaganza, Annual Father-Son Brunch, Back-To-School Slam Fest and School Supplies Giveaways, SAT Prep Workshop, and a Debutante Scholarship Cotillion.
