Mission Statement
The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford (MHCO) is North Carolina's first residential children's home caring for children apart from their families or guardians or unable to live in their homes.
About This Cause
Founded for orphaned and destitute children, The Masonic Home continues today to care for children absent of parents or guardians or a stable environment of daily living. As society has changed, so has our Home, as today children seek the shelter of the Home for many additional reasons, as some cannot live with their parents, some have been abandoned or abused by their family, or some cannot cope with the life and environment they encounter everyday living here through a private or state-determined placement. Yet to all these children, regardless of their reasons, MHCO can be a home.
