Mission Statement
Our mission is to create a place of lifelong learning where people, from young child to senior citizen, embrace science as a way of knowing about themselves, their community, and their world.
About This Cause
Founded in 1946 as the Durham Children’s Museum, the Museum of Life and Science has a proud tradition of serving the community by providing engaging STEM learning experiences and extracurricular programming. We welcome over half a million visitors annually from the greater Triangle region, Southern Virginia and beyond. Our core audience is local families with young children who visit for hands-on, experiential learning and discovery and school groups from around the region and across the state.
