Carolina Raptor Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to ignite a passion for raptors and a responsibility for our shared natural world.
About This Cause
In August 2024 the Carolina Raptor Center's Hospital released its 10,000th rehabilitated raptor, a Red-tailed Hawk, back into the wild on the campus of UNC Charlotte, where the organization was founded in 1981. On our zoological Raptor Trail, visitors can connect with bird species from across the globe, gaining an appreciation for the role raptors play in the environment. Our Raptor Trail is open year-round, and we host special events from Owl-O-Ween to Birds & Brews. We work to foster communities where raptors and people thrive with a unique blend of innovation, research, and education. Supporters can release a raptor, sponsor a species, make a charitable donation, purchase a membership or sponsor a capital improvement project.
