Asheville Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the compassionate treatment of animals in our community through education, sheltering and adoption.
About This Cause
For over 30 years Asheville Humane Society has been saving homeless Buncombe County animals. Today we operate both our own state-of-the-art Adoption and Education Center and the County's only open-door shelter where no local animal is ever turned away. We rescue, reunite, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned, abused, injured and lost animals. For the last four years, Asheville Humane Society has earned the highest possible rating of Four Stars from Charity Navigator, placing AHS in the top 9% of charities nationwide. Our nationally recognized innovative programs are now being brought beyond the shelter walls and into the community to help pets and their people stay together through education, training and financial assistance to keep pets in their homes.
