Mission Statement
Camp Carefree is a free summer camp for children with serious, chronic, terminal and debilitating conditions as well as for their siblings and children with parents who have serious, chronic and debilitating conditions
About This Cause
Camp Carefree provides a free one week Summer program for children with leukemia,cancer, Spina Bifida, spinal cord disorders & injuries, epilepsy & neurological disorders, Hemophilia, other blood disorders, von Willebrand's & Turner's Syndrome, as well as well children with a chronically ill sibling and children whose parents suffer from chronic or debilitating conditions. The program runs for 6 weeks with each week designated to particular conditions to allow the children to be children with same or similar conditions. We also provide a one weekend Alumni program for our kids that have aged out. We also host a week for Sickle Cell Children which is staffed by the Piedmont HealthCare6. Camp Carefree operates solely on donations and grants. Most of the staff is completely volunteer. We strive to have little to no administrative costs.
