Mission: The mission of the Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro is to promote the self-reliance of women by assessing needs, providing services and acting as a gateway to community resources. In seeking solutions for unmet needs, the WRC provides strategic leadership through collaborations and partnerships within the community.

About This Cause

WRC At-A-Glance Gateway to Community Services Community Resource area that includes information and brochures from local agencies that provide services for the many needs of women and families in our community. Community bulletin boards listing jobs, community events and other opportunities and announcements of interest to women. Computers with internet access are available on a limited-time basis. Written resources available in both English and Spanish. Free Attorney Hotline & Legal Resource Network Community women receive 15 minutes of FREE telephone consultation with local attorneys through appointments on the attorney hotline. Areas of law include separation/divorce, landlord/tenant problems, immigration and much more. Other legal resources include written information and workshops. Resources are also available via internet. Community Resource Counseling Community Resource Counselors provide support, problem-solving, goal setting and referral information. Women receive FREE 50-minute appointments with a trained resource specialist to help clarify objectives and receive assistance in accessing community resources to meet specific needs. Limited Spanish-speaking appointments available. Self-Esteem Series A monthly, four-part series on self-esteem issues for women, offered during both daytime and evening hours. Community Education Workshops Workshops on topics related to women’s physical, financial, emotional and relationship health are offered during both daytime and evening hours. New Choices – Strategies for Success Program A job-readiness program designed specifically for displaced homemakers transitioning back into the paid workforce. Classes include resume building, interviewing, budgeting, career exploration, self esteem, and much more. Childcare, transportation, and educational stipends are available to eligible women. Library Choose from a selection of books on topics of interest to women. Audio, video, and children’s books are also available.
