Share and promote the diversity of Asian Indian heritage and culture within the mainstream community in Charlotte & surrounding areas.
About This Cause
To promote the mission of organization, India Association of Charlotte (IAC) conducts Festival of India twice a year in Greater Charlotte Area. These festivals 1) Represent Mecklenburg County's Indian American Diaspora at a premier event and rejoice at recognition of that day as India Day in Charlotte. 2) Celebrate and unify the diversity of people of Indian origin, who have emigrated from India and many other countries, and chosen to make this County their home. 3) Educate and share with non-Indian American mainstream communities, the arts and traditions of our culture, as a vehicle to engage, educate and nurture dialog around Indian American cultural norms and interactions. 4) Provide a colorful, festive, family-oriented event that is open and welcoming to all. 5) Create awareness of the initiatives and contributions made by the Indian Americans that enrich the cultural and economic landscape of our larger community 6) Partner and Collaborate with local non-profits to expand our horizon.
