Mission Statement

Paramedics for Children (PFC) is an international organization that provides medical care, education programs, and disaster relief to save lives and maintain the dignity of children, families, and communities in Central America and beyond. We serve without regard to religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic background.

About This Cause

Founded in 1996, Paramedics for Children stated as an organization dedicated to providing school supplies to hundreds of Mayan Chorti Indian children in the mountain villages of Copan, Honduras, followed several years later by the introductions of more than 59 ambulances with over 8 chapters and 300 trained volunteers. By 2004, PFC had the largest all-volunteer ambulance services in all of Central America. In 2005, the Hacienda La Esperanza was completed along with the Clinica La Esperanza which has been in operation ever since. Over the past 10 years, the clinic has treated over 50,000 patients. What started as a small dedicated group of paramedics, nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals has evolved into so much more. We now have volunteers from all walks of life, and through their tireless work, extraordinary talents, and compassion, we continue to expand.
