Mission Statement
The mission of the Friendship Community Development Corporation is to serve, build and facilitate community through sustained human development. This is accomplished by providing community programs that develop, support and increase self-sufficiency; build community by addressing housing needs of underserved populations, and sustain community through economic development.
About This Cause
Our programs include: My Sister's House, a 24-bed transitional living center for single, homeless women; Great Things, a resale boutique located on Beatties Ford Rd; Sweet Creations of Charlotte, our catering division; and Friendship Gardens Apartments, a 12-unit affordable housing development. My Sister's House is a transitional living program operated by the Friendship Community Development Corporation, a North Carolina Nonprofit 5O1(c)3 corporation. The program serves single homeless women in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Community. Housing and wrap around services including job counselling, financial literacy, and individual/group counselling are provided to the residents. The program is administered by a clinical psychologist with over 25 years experienced in the human services area.
