Mission Statement
The Virtue Foundation is a non-profit organization with Special Consultative Status to the United Nations. The Virtue Foundation mission is to increase awareness, inspire action and render assistance through healthcare, education and empowerment initiatives. Comprised primarily of volunteers, Virtue Foundation is guided by the principle that true global change must begin within each of us – one person at a time, one act at a time.
About This Cause
Virtue Foundation is a U.S. based non-profit that seeks to utilize the expertise of surgical, medical and other professionals to provide both short-term impactful and long-term sustainable development solutions to communities across the globe in the areas of healthcare, education and empowerment. A primarily volunteer organization, Virtue Foundation has worked in over 20 countries: its current projects are focused primarily in Ghana, El Salvador and Mongolia. In 2018 the Foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary of surgical missions in Mongolia, completing more than 10,000 surgeries to underserved populations over the past decade. Virtue Foundation medical volunteers travel to Mongolia throughout the year to partner with local public hospitals to operate and teach in specialties such as ophthalmology, neurosurgery, hepatobiliary surgery, anesthesiology, ENT, and more. 2018 also marked the 8th anniversary of Virtue Foundation's Institute for Innovation and Philanthropy in Ghana, where the foundation supports projects in health, education, justice and empowerment through direct patient care and training of local providers via surgical and medical missions, delivery of much needed medical equipment and supplies with an estimated value of over $1 million dollars to remote regions, support for youth education, and judicial training of women judges in partnership with the Ghanaian Judiciary. Virtue Foundation Data Mapping Initiative The Virtue Foundation Data Mapping Initiative is a forward-thinking technology platform that seeks to create a more efficient marketplace for the delivery of healthcare in under-served regions of the world. Born of years of on the ground medical missions, the platform leverages predictive analytics and machine learning algorithms to analyze geospatial data, infrastructure, risk factors, and other environmental conditions to better predict need and match available resources. Through a simple and free user interface, the platform seeks to provide individuals, non-profits, governments, and companies with more efficient access to the data needed to help make critical decisions on how to most efficiently allocate resources for greatest impact. In 2018, the Virtue Foundation entered into a strategic partnership with Dun & Bradstreet on the Virtue Foundation Data Mapping Initiative.
