About This Cause

Founded in 2008 by Tiffany Baker, The Empowerment Center (TEC) is a 501 C (3) nonprofit Strengths-based Resilience Youth and Family Organization. TEC’s mission is to help youth and families develop the resilience necessary to overcome challenges, discover the best of themselves and create healthier, happier patterns of living. The Empowerment Center leaders are committed to serve at-risk youth and the families across Riverside County, with an emphasis on minority youth in Southwest Riverside County. Through critical partnerships within the education, social work, and mental health sectors, The Empowerment Center have and continue to see significant impact and transformation in the lives of whole families and the professionals who serve them via class training and mentorship. Tiffany established the organization to provide essential life skills building training and support to youth and families that she and hers lacked growing up. However, it was because a few angels stepped into her life and offered her a lifeline of hope and real-life solutions that made all the difference in the world to her overcoming hardships. TEC’s service philosophy remains to offer those in need the same in building their resilience, knowledge, and hands-on skills to overcome and become positive contributing members of society.
