Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, particularly those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
About This Cause
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Durham (BGCGD) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and protecting children while preserving the beauty and innocence of childhood. BGCGD serves 120 children every day through our after-school program, and over 300 during our summer camp and athletic programming. We aim to make a fundamental difference in the lives of all youth, but especially those who need guidance the most by providing a safe alternative for youth between the ages of 6 and 18. BGCGD has been a steadfast champion for youth since 1939, securing the success of our children by offering quality programming focused on life skills and academic achievements. Charging no more than $10.00 a year, we give children the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment. This important service that BGCGD provides is not achieved alone. Only through a collaborative effort with local businesses, area charities, philanthropic groups and generous residents has BGCGD formed a network of champions for the most worthy cause of all; securing the futures of our children.
