Mission Statement
The United Way of Coastal Carolina will strive to meet current and emerging human care needs in Carteret, Craven, Jones and Pamlico counties by mobilizing the resources of community organizations, agencies, donors, recipients and volunteers.
About This Cause
For 60 years, United Way of Coastal Carolina (UWCC) has worked in Carteret, Craven, Jones and Pamlico Counties to improve the lives of people in Coastal North Carolina by mobilizing the caring power of people and communities. Today, UWCC is the one of the largest private funders of education, income, and health services in the four-county area. Over the past ten years, UWCC has provided over $3 million in grants to over 20 non-profit agencies working throughout our service area. We strive to make sure children are ready to learn, families are safe and self-sufficient, and seniors remain independent and active. We accomplish our results by bringing together experts, business leaders, donors, neighborhoods, and members of local non-profit agencies. While fundraising will always be a core function of UWCC, we’ve also expanded to provide leadership for collaborative initiatives and strengthen volunteerism among community members. These activities bring together human, financial, and strategic resources to help create the building blocks of better lives for all
