About This Cause
At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every gift makes a difference, everyone has a role to play, together, we can do so much more. The need is felt across all ages and circumstances - from young and old, to individuals with special needs, and struggling families. For over 100 years our YMCA has been a vital part of breathing life into our communities through scholarship assistance to those in need. We are more than a place, we're a cause. Everyday, the Upper Palmetto YMCA strengthens our communities through programs and services focused on youth development, (all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve, under the guidance of caring adults who believe in their potential); healthy living, (health and well-being are all about balance. That's why we help people and families build and maintain healthy habits for spirit, mind and body in their everyday lives); and social responsibility, (with our doors open to all, we bring together people from all backgrounds to support those who need us the most.
