About This Cause
The Free Medical Clinic plays an important part of providing services to the most vulnerable populations in our community through the operation of the Midlands sole full-time free clinic with an on-site pharmacy, a variety of on-site specialties, and an extensive network of additional providers, all at no cost to the patient. We provided primary care to 1,000 unique patients through 2,649 onsite primary care and specialty care visits and dispensed over 15,000 prescriptions in 2023. We saw patients from 23 of the 46 South Carolina counties and immigrants from various nations. We also referred patients out for imaging, labs, and additional medical procedures through our hospital partnerships. On-site ECG and echocardiograms are available through support from local hospitals. Patients can be referred for services that are beyond the current scope of the Clinic, such as housing assistance, nutrition, mental health services, etc.
