Mission Statement
The Fort Bend Buyers Group is a collection of individuals who join together each year to support our youth at the Fort Bend County Fair.
About This Cause
Why we created the Fort Bend Buyers Group Each year there are hundreds of students who participate in the Fort Bend County Fair by exhibiting FFA or 4-H livestock projects. These students are learning valuable life skills and responsibility through their projects. The Fort Bend Buyers Group was created to increase the community support for all Fort Bend County students at the Fair. Increasing numbers of FFA Chapters are organized in high schools in urban areas, and unfortunately the surrounding communities are not aware of the value of these programs. By supporting these students at the Livestock Auctions and helping with non-sale animals, we are investing in our county’s future. These students use the money they receive at the auctions for basically three things: education, starting a new project or supporting an existing project. In some cases, the FFA and 4-H programs provide the leadership opportunities for students that are not in band or sports.
