Mission Statement
United Way of Greater Atlanta engages all segments of our community to drive sustainable change in education, income, health and homelessness, while continuing to address urgent and basic human care.
About This Cause
United Way of Greater Atlanta is one of the largest in the nation with more than $100 million in annual revenue. We invest in more than 200 programs in 13 counties through the Community Impact Fund and participate in Collaborative Networks and Opportunity Zones with caring community partners to address challenges facing families and individuals. Inspired by local residents as an organized effort to help people devastated by a severe ice and snowstorm in 1905, United Way of Greater Atlanta continues to mobilize our community to make lasting improvements on important human care issues. Contributions to the United Way Community Impact Fund are invested in strong local programs and initiatives that help accomplish these goals: •Babies are born healthy •Children enter school ready to learn and graduate prepared for careers •Young people avoid risky behaviors •Families are self-sufficient •People have access to primary health care •Homeless people are housed within one year Volunteering with United Way of Greater Atlanta provides opportunities for everyone on your staff to participate in the campaign, provides an important resource for local agencies and helps educate and engage individuals with United Way's work in the community.
