Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
About This Cause
Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis has been creating affordable housing in Saint Louis City and County. To date, we have built and rehabbed almost 400 homes and created safe affordable housing for more than 1,500 people. Habitat Saint Louis provides a hand-up, not a hand-out. All of our homebuyers perform 350 hours of sweat equity, working on the construction of their homes and taking classes in finance, budgeting, insurance and other skills needed to be a successful homeowner. Once their house is completed, homebuyers purchase their homes by taking on a 30-year affordable mortgage. We are dependent on the generosity of people who are invested in the success of our families and share our vision of a Saint Louis where everyone has a decent place to live.
