Mission Statement
Sylacauga City Schools (SCS) Foundation, created in 1988 by Dr. Joe Morton, was one of the first educational foundations of its type in the nation and the first in Alabama. The Foundation’s role is to support the Sylacauga City Schools in their quest for excellence. Each year the Foundation awards thousands of dollars in classroom grants to support learning. SCS Foundation has given over $1 million in grants since its inception. Grants at Indian Valley, Pinecrest, Nichols-Lawson, and Sylacauga High School have been used to purchase Google Chrome Books, Smart Boards, Clickers, iPads, etc. The new technology purchased through the grants has impacted the school system tremendously. The Sylacauga City Schools Foundation is dedicated to enhancing and supplementing the educational needs of our students.
