Mission Statement

The mission of the Athens Area Humane Society is to rescue and protect companion animals by providing for their wellbeing, uniting them with loving homes, and advocating for a compassionate society.

About This Cause

The Athens Area Humane Society is a rescue and low cost surgery center for dogs and cats. We work to help reduce the number of healthy adoptable animals that are euthanized in Georgia every year. We do this through promoting humane education, offering low and no cost options to have your cat or dog altered, pulling animals from animal control facilities and finding suitable homes for the animals, and offering low cost vaccination clinics every month.
