Mission Statement
The Maynard Jackson Youth Foundation, a Foundation for the Future, is a non-profit 501(C3) organization. The late Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson founded MJYF in 1992 to enrich the academic and leadership experience of underserved and at-risk Metro Atlanta high school students. The mission of the Maynard Jackson Youth Foundation is to build the foundation for youth today to become leaders of tomorrow.
About This Cause
MJYF achieves its mission through the work of the MJYF Leadership Academy. Each year 40 students from high schools throughout metropolitan Atlanta participate in a two-year fellowship program for juniors/seniors where students are taught the skills and principles of ethical leadership, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, civic engagement and college and career readiness.
