Mission Statement
Easter Seals North Georgia provides high-quality services to ensure that all children with disabilities or other special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities. We strengthen families at times most critical to a child's development.
About This Cause
We provide early education programs in an inclusive environment so that low-income families and families with special needs children are all in the same classrooms together. It is amazing to see how the special needs children are determined to do what their peers do. Their low-income peers grow in compassion for their fellow classmates - not seeing any barriers. All grow up together and learn together and create friendships together. Our early therapy programs get involved with fragile babies leaving the Neonatal Intensive Care Units and training and therapies are provided in the natural environment and most are provided in the homes. This makes it convenient for the families and less stress on children with special needs. Often times the therapist is also coaching the families on how they can help ease aches and pains for the child. We also help strengthen muscles and fine motor skills so the children are strong enough to be with same age children in an early education environment. Autism - We provide P.L.A.Y. Project: (Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters) is a home consultation program that provides training and support for families of young children (up to age 6) diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder.
