Mission Statement
McWane Science Center is a science and technology museum located in Birmingham, Alabama. Each day we strive to change lives through science and wonder.
About This Cause
Through its exhibits, educational programming, events, and collections, McWane Science Center provides outstanding experiences across the science, technology, engineering, and math spectrum that enhance subject matter literacy, creativity, and critical thinking. Our vision is to excite and inspire inquiry and innovation in our children and our society. Since our opening in July, 1998, McWane has created a dynamic learning environment to help us realize this vision and inspire community development. We have served over six million people since our inception (almost 400,000 annually), and we provide our visitors with educational opportunities, programming and exhibits that cannot be found anywhere else in our region.
