Mission Statement
Bethany Place is a long term home for women and children established to break the cycle of poverty and abuse through teaching, training and discipline. Bethany Place was established in 1989 by Michael and Sandra Reed with the desire to change the lives of women and children and give them a new vision for their life, no longer depending on the welfare system or an abusive relationship to sustain their needs.
About This Cause
Bethany Place was established in 1989 in a converted chicken house and with the help of many generous volunteers over the last 30 years, it has become a beautiful facility with nine bedrooms which are usually full. Bethany Place has housed hundreds of women and children over the last thirty years and has seen many, many lives transformed. The program was designed to break the cycle of poverty and abuse by teaching and training in a disciplined, structured lifestyle. Bethany Place offers a calm. peaceful, safe environment where families have the opportunity of experiencing a better lifestyle. We consider every resident a success because they have been given this opportunity. We have been in existence long enough to see the children of residents come back and share their new lives. Bethany Place only admits women who have a desire to change their lives and that of their children and are willing to buckle down and work hard to accomplish the task. Bethany Place also has an Emergency Food Pantry which feeds families in need on a regular basis. Donations from the Community keep the pantry full most of the time. I believe Bethany Place is an asset to the Community. We have yearly fundraisers which include local dignitaries like the Sheriff, the local Mayor and many others. We believe that Bethany Place has made a difference in many lives and will effect many generations to come.
