About This Cause

For 61 years, the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, Inc. has provided civil legal services to thousands of low-income residents. Our emphasis has been on resolving legal matters which have the greatest impact on their safety and stability. We also represent best interest of abused, abandoned, and neglected children as Guardians ad Litem. We provide a wide-range of legal services in the substantive legal areas family, housing, consumer, juvenile, and immigration. This includes domestic violence protection, child custody, custody for non-parent relatives, evictions, mortgage foreclosure, consumer protection, ensuring services are made available for children aging out of foster care, protection and ensuring necessary benefits are available for battered immigrant spouses and trafficked victims, removal of barriers to employment, sealing and expungement of criminal records, and free year round tax assistance to low-income wage earners.
