About This Cause
At Achievement Centers for Children & Families (ACCF), children actively participate in Early Learning (Toddler and Preschool), After School, Teen, and Summer Camp programs that help prepare them for academic and social success and inspire them to discover their talents. In addition, families receive services through our Family Support and Economic Stabilization services, which benefit the community by stabilizing families in crisis and supporting them as the foundation of their child's growth. Family strengthening services are essential to our four core Early Learning, After School, Teen, and Summer Camp programs. ACCF serves 600 local children and families yearly from three locations in Delray Beach; Nancy K. Hurd Campus, Village Academy, and Pine Grove Elementary. Last year, we served 192,000 free snacks and meals. ACCF provides services at three Delray Beach locations. We are a community-based organization that began in 1969 when the County Health Department raised concern over the disproportionate number of single-caregiver households with families working to address challenges such as low-wage jobs, unemployment, and limited access to nutritious food and healthcare options. From this came the original concept and design of services that would become the Community Child Care Center of Delray Beach - now the Achievement Centers for Children & Families. One of the only providers of social services in the Northwest and Southwest neighborhoods of Delray Beach, the agency has become a trusted member of the surrounding community, partnering with a wide range of support agencies and consistently receiving top certification scores from certification agencies. This consistent success has allowed the agency to broaden its scope, positioning it to provide family strengthening, wellness, and case management services to its community through the lens of equity and inclusion. ACCF also serves local families through its robust Family Support Program, which offers services that support mental health and wellness, including clinical services, job training, and financial support.
