About This Cause
Since early 1983, dedicated staff and volunteers have been assisting pregnant women and new moms in making positive and healthy choices. Kimberly Home works collaboratively with several other area non-profits and partners to ensure that women have the support necessary to experience healthy pregnancies, healthy deliveries and healthy babies. Services include but are not limited to: Counseling/Mentoring - pregnancy testing, limited ultrasound, bi-lingual counsel/mentoring, a referral network are provided free of charge Material Assistance – maternity and infant/toddler clothing, baby food, formula, baby care supplies and furniture are provided as part of an educational incentive program Child Care Center - A Florida licensed onsite childcare program provides safe, loving, developmental and affordable daycare for the infants and toddlers of moms attending school and/or returning to the work force. Kimberly “Village” – A residential support program provides safe and affordable transitional housing for women and children who would otherwise be homeless. Home Visitation – “Good Start=Good Life” an outreach designed to serve at risk pregnant women and teens who are on bed rest or have transportation issues and need additional assistance. Education – mentoring and classes are offered in prenatal & postnatal care, childbirth, baby care, nutrition, breastfeeding, budgeting, parenting, life skills, cooking and GED as well as coping mechanisms. Adoption - loving counsel and referral throughout and beyond the adoption process. Two thrift shops (Clearwater and Dunedin) serve to help fund all programs as well as provide an avenue for the public to donate. All staff and volunteer mentors and daycare providers are finger-printed and background screened. Volunteer trainings are provided.
