About This Cause
Eckerd Kids – one of the largest nonprofit child and family service organizations in the United States. We are an established national leader that has given much needed second chances to more than 168,000 children since 1968. Founded by Jack and Ruth Eckerd, our organization provides life-changing child welfare, juvenile justice, behavioral health, and workforce development programs to over 25,000 children and families annually. Our mission to provide and share solutions that promote the well-being of children and families in need of a second chance drives every action Eckerd Kids takes. Built on a bedrock of solution-oriented programs, Eckerd Kids assists both public and private organizations by sharing its best practices and advocating for system reform across the nation. Through our breadth and depth of services, commitment to performance measurement and quality outcomes, Eckerd Kids has become the first name in second chances with 45+ years of success. Eckerd’s approach to serving children and families includes working with community partners, stakeholders, and citizens in evaluating services to ensure they are family centered, outcome oriented, culturally competent, and accountable for results. This intentional approach to bringing individuals, agencies, and the community together, ensures that we operate as a unified decision-making entity, with the capacity to ensure that children in our communities are safe, well-adjusted, and equipped to be successful.
