Mission Statement
The Women’s Emergency Network (WEN) was founded in 1989 with a mission to assist Floridians in accessing reproductive healthcare. With the state's six-week abortion ban in effect, thousands of people are forced to travel out of state for care, creating significant financial and logistical barriers. As the largest abortion fund in Florida serving the highest number of Floridians per month, WEN is uniquely positioned to address the urgent and growing need for abortion access support in our community.
About This Cause
WEN is more than just an abortion fund—it is a lifeline for Floridians navigating a system designed to deny them care. In 2024 alone, we helped 4,000 Floridians access abortion care and spent $1.1 million providing direct financial and logistical support, tripling our impact from the previous year. As the demand for assistance grows in the wake of the 6-week ban, WEN is seeking support to help ensure that Floridians facing financial and logistical barriers can receive the care they need, including assistance with abortion costs, including miscarriage management, as well as travel, lodging, and childcare.
