Hardee Help Center Profile Information Service Providing Area: Hardee County Only Status of Company: Florida NonProfit Corporation 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization Hardee Help Center is a Christ-centered community service organization bringing hope and healing to Hardee County families in difficult seasons of life. The Basic Needs Programs exist as a safety net to assist individuals and families with protecting their health, safety, and well-being. The Basic Needs Program includes: Emergency, Homeless & Low-income Assistance. Emergency Assistance, when experiencing a short-term unexpected crisis or hardship such as a recent unexpected layoff, transportation breakdown, funeral expense, medical emergency, natural disaster and other verifiable unexpected loss of income, or verifiable unexpected expense. EA can include: financial assistance (rent, deposits, utilities, prescription, transportation, temporary lodging), crisis food, household items, thrift store vouchers, store gift cards, restaurant gift cards, back to school supplies, Christmas gift assistance, holiday food bags and resource counseling. Homeless Assistance can include: weekly food pick up, hot lunches twice a week, clothing, thrift store vouchers, hygiene kits, job search assistance, bikes, laundry, showers, cold weather gear, temporary lodging in certain situations, tents, help obtaining ID, birth certificate, and social security card, free access to fax, copier, computer and phone and resource counseling. Low-income Assistance can include: food, cold weather assistance, school supplies, free access to fax, copier, computer and phone and resource counseling. Senior monthly food program and monthly mobile food distribution. Other Programs: The Smart Choices Program is geared towards individuals and families who are motivated to take preventative measures to avoid a crisis in unexpected situations, or who have been assisted through one of our Basic Needs Programs. Hardee Help Center partners with local financial education agencies to offer financial education to assist households to regain financial stability or to begin the process of becoming financially stable. In addition, healthy eating courses are offered to promote a healthy lifestyle. The Church Impact Program encourages church participation in supporting and serving in order to maximize programs and services. In the Love LOUD Program, churches sponsor the Hardee Help Center for one month. During the month, church members are given opportunities to meet the needs of the community through donation of supply items and volunteering their time in service at the Hardee Help Center. Mobile Food Distributions create partnerships to connect churches to their communities and provide food to families experiencing food insecurity.
