About This Cause
Community Health Outreach (CHO) is a faith-based, non-profit organization that has served the community since 1988 through our mission of “feed the hungry, clothe the needy, and heal the sick.” CHO does this through three ongoing programs: healthcare, food assistance, and infant health services. CHO completed over 24,000 services to those eligible in 2021. CHO offers a large drive-through food pantry and serves an average of 400 households each week. The pantry is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 9 am to 11 am. Our healthcare clinics provide no-cost primary care, specialty medical care, and dental care to the uninsured and financially insecure three days weekly on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Baby Luv Pregnancy Center provides free pregnancy testing and counseling, clothes, baby equipment, diapers, wipes, baby food, and formula and is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 10 am to noon. Life expectancy is a decade shorter for those living in West Jacksonville due to a lack of access to nutritious foods and healthcare. No-cost services include a medical and dental clinic for the uninsured and financially insecure, a food pantry, and Baby Luv which provides free pregnancy testing, baby clothing and equipment, diapers, wipes, and formula.
