Mission Statement
The mission of the Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention, Inc. (CMWP) is to enhance the health, wellness and quality of life for diverse populations in Central Florida.
About This Cause
The Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention, Inc. (CMWP) is a private, not-for-profit organization operating for the past 25 years addressing health disparities and remains in the forefront of health education among African Americans, Hispanics, Haitians and other minorities in Central Florida. CMWP is a well-known and established case management provider and has a long, successful track record of providing core public health functions and essential services to the minority population in Central Florida. The organization’s vision is a Central Florida without health disparities and 100% access to health care (or health care for all Floridians). The partnership that CMWP has with the community in combination with our existing program position us in a way that allows us to work with multiple partners and meet the goal of improving the lives and well-being of the community of which we serve. CMWP have been a trusted source of information for the community. The organization, have participated and host several community events with successful turn out such as: town hall meetings, educational workshops, health fairs, health education/promotion at community centers, churches, radio/TV stations, health centers and more. Cultural sensitivity is paramount to our case management/outreach approach. Staff receive continuous training annually to ensure services are delivered in a sensitive, culturally competent manner. CMWP continues to ensure cultural competency in service delivery through several strategies. These strategies include culturally competent community-based outreach using linguistically appropriate materials, trilingual staff, a diverse Board of Directors, Client Advisory Board and using client satisfaction surveys to continually improve services.
