About This Cause
The Humane Society of Sarasota County relies solely on donations, grants, and bequests to do its lifesaving work. As a private, nonprofit organization, the Humane Society of Sarasota County receives no federal funding, nor is funded by any national humane organization like the Humane Society of the United States. Our donors' support has enabled the Humane Society of Sarasota County to become the area's premier no-kill shelter, meaning every one of our adoptable pets finds a home! In addition to this joyous achievement, HSSC offers a host of valuable programs, including humane education, pet therapy, K-9 obedience training, an affordable public animal clinic, and volunteer opportunities. Only with this support can HSSC continue to provide a better quality of life for the animals in our care and remain an essential resource for the community.
