Mission Statement

Supporting families by creating a community of opportunity, where together we are connecting to one another, connecting to resources, breaking down barriers, advocating for change, and investing in futures.

About This Cause

For more than 125 years, Neighborhood House has been a home-away-from-home for families in West Louisville. Founded in 1896 as the first settlement house in Kentucky, Neighborhood House is now a modern community hub for our neighbors, who we call members. With opportunities ranging from the Child Development Center to senior programming, we like to say that we see members “from the twinkle to the wrinkle." Members come to Neighborhood House through a variety of pathways, including: Child Development Center, providing exceptional early childhood education in partnership with Head Start. Emergency Food Bank, distributing more than 400 boxes of food and household items to help families stretch their grocery budget Four Seasons Senior Program, providing senior adults with an important network of support and community Family Coaching Program, walking alongside families as they improve their health and financial wellness Youth Program, offering kids grades 1-12 a safe, engaging place to go while they're not in school.
