About This Cause
Bellewood and Brooklawn have been serving Kentucky’s most vulnerable children and families for 175 years. Originally founded as a Presbyterian orphanage, we’ve evolved into a leading nonprofit providing trauma-informed care, safe residential programs, and comprehensive services aimed at healing and rebuilding lives. Our programs include family preservation to prevent child separation, therapeutic foster care, independent living for young adults aging out of care, and residential treatment for children overcoming trauma. We also emphasize education, mental health support, and life skills development, ensuring the children and families we serve have the tools to thrive. At Bellewood and Brooklawn, we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment and the opportunity to succeed.
