Mission Statement
The Woodford Humane Society is a non-profit animal adoption center that cares for homeless and unwanted animals. We have welcomed thousands of animals since 1975 and strive to find good, loving homes for all of them.
About This Cause
With no government funding, we are completely dependent on private contributions to continue to provide care to 1,200 animals each year. Since 2007, we have placed more than 92% of our animals into their forever homes! The national average is around 25%. Our open-door policy means that we take in animals in need, regardless of their temperament, health, age or breed as long as we have the room to accommodate them. We get to know our animals well and provide the enrichment and the playtime they need to stay happy. We are proud to say that we never set a time limit for adoptable animals to find a new home -- in fact, many animals have remained here a year or more while awaiting their new home.
