Mission Statement
To help persons diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones navigate the path through diagnosis, treatment and recovery by pairing them with a trained survivor of a similar experience so they can face cancer with someone who's been there.
About This Cause
Friend for Life Cancer Support Network helps adults (18+) facing cancer by pairing them with one or more trained volunteers who have been through a similar experience. Friend for Life Peer Navigators offer the understanding and empathy that come from having "been there" themselves. They can relate to the overwhelming fears and uncertainties that are common when you've been told you or a loved one had cancer, and can help you navigate through the tough times. We match support seekers with Peer Navigators by cancer type, treatment types, age and whatever is most important to the support seeker. These connections happen by phone, email, text, whatever works best, and typically continues throughout the course of treatment.
