Mission Statement

The Humane Society of Oldham County has been providing services for animals and the community of Oldham County since 1986. Our mission is to serve animals and our community by promoting the humane care of animals, providing humane education that will help instill into the community the idea that the lives of each of these animals is precious and not expendable; implement programs that will aid animals and their caregivers.

About This Cause

The following programs have been instituted to achieve our mission: a) Low cost spay/neuter surgeries for animal owners who cannot otherwise afford this service and for other rescue groups who rely on this service to continue their work; b) rescue of unwanted and homeless animals by finding them permanent loving homes; c) support for community and feral cat colonies by providing spay/neuter services, food and veterinary care; c) support for our County Shelter by providing food, medical care for the animals housed there and reducing their euthanasia rate by pulling shelter animals for our adoption programs; d) Food Bank for people who need assistance feeding their animals; e) compassionate care financial assistance program for people who need help giving their animals medical care; f) “Snugglers for Seniors” free cat adoption program for senior citizens; g) Camp K-9 prison dog training program at Kentucky State Reformatory; h) 4 Paws 4 Service dog training program that provides service/therapy dogs for veterans, First Responders, Gold Star Families, and other adults/children with disabilities; I)Barn Cat Placement Program; j) animal education outreach programs; k) volunteer opportunities.
