About This Cause
Nonprofit charitable organization established in 1994 to address the first international environmental treaty the "Earth Summit" and the "Declaration of Rio", we have been working at it ever since, always open to innovation and giving a leg up to the little guy. The founder had been distributing free trees and organizing Earth Day events since 1990 and created the organization to disseminate educational information while improving the ecological balance with tree planting. The organization distributed 10 million trees within ten years. In 2020, Ecology Crossroads was reinstated by the founder and his son who invited some of the original board members, shortly thereafter Globcal International (an international development cooperative) was merged into the 501(c)(3) organization as a capital asset, including property in Central and South America. Currently focused on Indigenous Philanthropy and programs that mitigate climate change through autonomous Indigenous Peoples as the Guardians of their Forests. With our new Indigenous Philanthropy Program donors (investors) receive Indigenous carbon trading dividends which they can use for compliance programs or redeem when they do their annual tax return. Ecology Crossroads through Globcal International has the potential to market up to one million Carbon Credits per year which are being made available as Nature-based Solutions (NbS) as outlined by the World Resources Institute in 2022.
