Mission Statement
LymeLight Foundation raises funds to provide grants to children and young adults through age 25 for treatment of Lyme disease. We were established in 2011 and are the only Foundation in the United States supporting children with this chronic illness. We also host events to spread awareness about Lyme disease and tick-borne illness.
About This Cause
Lyme disease is 6 times more common than HIV and 50% more common than breast cancer, yet there is a lack of awareness of the over 300 symptoms associated with the disease. Even with a proper diagnosis, most insurance companies only cover 1-2 months of treatment creating a huge financial hardship for families with sick children. LymeLight Foundation bridges the gap and provides treatment grants of up to $10,000 per qualified individual. We are not research-based but rather on the ground providing hand-to-hand aid to children with Lyme disease. LymeLight Foundation grants offer hope that with adequate treatment, children with this disease can have their health restored and they can go on to lead productive lives.
